James Carnes built his first custom rod in 1982 and has been an avid saltwater fisherman since that time.

He has built every type of custom rod, from fly rods to blue water rods and has a special love for salt water big game fishing.

James only uses the finest components available. He believes that successful fishing is dependent upon using the best equipment available and is determined to build the best rods that money can buy on the market today.

He has owned several boats and caught most species of saltwater game fish up and down the east coast of the United States.

Currently, James owns and keeps a boat in South Carolina and spends as much time as possible on the ocean, testing and fishing with hand crafted Osprey Custom rods.
